A licensed therapist in Washington State with nearly fifteen years of clinical experience. I work with adults navigating identity, belonging, perinatal transitions, and the kind of disconnection that is hard to name but impossible to ignore.

My work is relational, attachment-based, and shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and coaching for adult Third Culture Kids around the world.

About

Paula MacCormac, LMHC, PMH-C

My job is not to hand you answers. It's to help you access and build trust with your own inner wisdom.

I was born and raised in the Philippines, came to the United States at seventeen (Hawaii first, then Washington eleven years later), and have lived much of my life between cultures, languages, and ideas of home. I am bilingual, multiracial, an immigrant, an adult Third Culture Kid, and a woman of color in a field still shaped by whiteness. Those realities are not footnotes to my work. They shape how I understand identity, belonging, loss, adaptation, and the ache of not fitting neatly anywhere. Motherhood has also changed how I understand care, identity, ambivalence, exhaustion, and the strange pressure to remain yourself while becoming someone new at the same time.

Nearly fifteen years of clinical work has made me a good therapist. Living between worlds, becoming a mother, learning how belonging can be both deeply wanted and complicated has made me a better one. My work is shaped by both solid clinical training and the kind of lived experience that keeps me honest in the room.

The person behind the practice

I know how much it matters to work with someone who doesn't need you to translate every part of yourself. What I aim to create in our work together is a professional relationship that feels human. We laugh. We tell stories. We sit in the hard things. We can move between what's easy and what's tender without losing our footing, because the trust we build is what makes that possible.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find me with my partner, our kids, and two goofy 90lb dogs. I am an avid reader, an aspiring gardener, a knitter, a baker, and someone who spends more time than I care to admit outdoors watching birds.
